Biohazard cleanup in Coalmont, Tennessee

Cleanup in Coalmont: what shapes the work

At nearly 1,900 feet, Coalmont sits high on the plateau. The coal company once built and owned most of its houses, and some of that early frame housing remains alongside later homes and manufactured housing.

Older company-town houses are often simple wood construction over crawlspaces, without much between the floor and the ground. A spill in a home like that can reach the joists and soil below, so the assessment includes what is under the house.
