Blood and bodily fluid cleanup

Blood and other body fluids can carry infections and soak further than they look. We clean homes, vehicles, workplaces and public spaces and check where the spill went.

What the work involves

  • Containing the area and protecting the rest of the building.
  • Removing porous materials that absorbed fluid and cannot be cleaned to a safe standard.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces with products suited to bloodborne pathogens.
  • Checking seams, subfloors, vehicle interiors and fixtures for spread that is not visible.
  • Packaging waste for disposal under the rules that apply in your state.

What to expect

Jobs range from a single room or a vehicle to a workplace incident. Employers have their own duties under the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standard; we can work alongside your safety staff and give you a written record of the work.

What to do now

  • Keep people away from the area.
  • Do not use household cleaners or a carpet machine on it.
  • If it is a workplace, follow your exposure control plan and tell your safety contact.
  • If it followed a crime, wait for the scene to be released.
