Drug residue cleanup
Cleanup of residue from methamphetamine or fentanyl use in homes, rentals, hotel rooms and vehicles. Properties quarantined as former drug labs follow separate state rules.
What the work involves
- Finding out whether the property is on a state or local quarantine or clandestine lab list. If it is, state rules decide who may decontaminate it.
- Removing contaminated soft goods and materials that cannot be cleaned.
- Cleaning hard surfaces, fixtures and, where needed, ventilation components.
- Handling and disposing of needles and drug paraphernalia found on site.
- Arranging independent testing when an owner, buyer or lender needs it.
What to expect
Landlords and property managers usually call between tenants, and buyers or sellers call when a home inspection raises a question. We will tell you plainly whether the job is something we can do or something state rules send to a specialized contractor.
What to do now
- Do not stay in or re-rent a unit you suspect was used for a lab.
- If you find needles, do not pick them up with bare hands.
- If police or a health department posted a notice, keep it and tell us what it says.
- Check your state page for the agency that keeps quarantine lists.
